One of the cosmetic complaints a patient may have is development of lines and creases around the eyes and forehead. These appear as part of the normal aging process. Commonly known as laugh lines, frown lines, these tend to deepen with time.A quick, almost painless method is Botox injections which can be carefully injected at multiple sites of the involved area. The amount to be delivered is carefully measured by the doctor and injected.
These injections need to be repeated every 4-6 months for a sustained effect.
Other than cosmetic purposes, there are certain medical conditions of the eyelids and face, in which Botox-A injection may be helpful. One such condition is blepharospasm. The patient may have a constant spasm of the eyelids which may be crippling since the patient is unable to open his/her eyes, and therefore, unable to see. This can easily be corrected by Botox. This is a very simple and painless, in office procedure that gives excellent results.
